Terms and Conditions – Doula Services 

 

Payment for Services 

I require Payment for services as follows:  

For birth doula support – I require 50% on booking and the balance at 38 weeks. 

For postnatal doula support – I require 50% on booking and the balance on commencement of the support. Support provided outside of the initial agreed hours are payable no less than seven days in advance. 

On Call Time & Coverage 

As stated in my contract, I agree to have a minimum of three sessions (preferably two antenatal and one postnatal visit) with the expectant parent as well as being present as a support during their birth. I will be available for consultations by phone or online from the first contact to the last visit. I agree to be “on call” from 38 weeks to 42 weeks (or until the baby is born [subject to my availability]).  

Opt-Ins for Additional Services 

If clients want to expand scope of original contract, I offer a 20% discount on most additional services to existing clients. If more sessions are required than stated above, they are chargeable at £50 per two-hour session.  

A Breastfeeding Support visit can be provided in the first 10 days at no additional cost.  

Refund Policy 

For birth support the fee (or part of the fee where services are combined) will be reimbursed should unforeseen circumstances on the part of the doula prevent me (or my named back up) from being present at the birth in the time period inclusive of the “on call” dates. If the doula is not given sufficient notice to attend, the fee remains payable in full but 2 compensatory postnatal visits (3 hours each) will be offered.  

For postnatal support bookings I require 7 full days’ notice for cancellations/amendments, after which, no refund will be given. 

If clients want to downgrade a discounted package, I will a refund the balance over and above the flat rate for the services used. 

All refunds will be given via bank transfer.  

By signing the contract & paying your deposit, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. 

 

Terms and Conditions – Doula Preparation Course 

 

Payment for Courses 

I require full payment to reserve your place on the course.  Instalments are available if you require it. You will receive your certificate from the course on completion of the instalment payments. These payments are non-refundable.  

If you cannot attend the course, you can transfer to another course date if there is availability. You can also choose to gift your place to someone else. Please contact me to discuss this: sidebysidedoula@outlook.com  

Cancellations & Refunds 

On the unlikely event that I need to completely cancel the course, I will give at least 4 working days' notice. If I cancel the course or move it and you cannot attend the new date, I will give a full refund. All refunds will be given via bank transfer. 

Attendance  

There is an honour system for catching up on the sessions you miss however, non-attendance of over 20% (2/3 out of the 10/11 sessions) may require re-attendance. 

Non-completion of assignments after 12 months of the course ending may require re-attendance.  

Confidentiality  

We may be sharing personal information during the course, attendants on the course must keep everything said confidential. What is said on the course, stays on the course.  

Proprietary/commercially sensitive materials 

All course content, slides and handouts are owned by Side by Side Doula Services (and their associates) and course attendants cannot use these resources outside of the course without express written consent.  

By signing up and attending the course, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
